Practice Through Reflection

Did you know that reflecting together can help children and grown-ups better understand what their feelings and experiences are trying to tell them?

Practicing reflection during calm moments creates space to slow down, notice what happened, and become curious about what felt helpful or difficult. Reflection can happen through open discussion, journaling, self-reflection worksheets, meditation, mindfulness, art, or other creative activities in your Growth Garden™.

With The Parallel Journey™ as the guiding principle and The Satori Shift™ as the five-step process for exploring feelings, children and grown-ups can Notice, Connect, Listen, Validate, and Choose together while learning from their shared experiences.



The goal is not to question the child, evaluate what they did right or wrong, or search for a perfect answer. It is to listen with curiosity, recognize what each person experienced, and discover what you may want to practice or change next time. When familiar support does not help, reflection can also reveal that a deeper need or challenge may require attention.
