Practice Through Play
Did you know that play is one of the most natural ways children learn, communicate, and make sense of their experiences?
Practicing together through stories, imagination, role-play, games, movement, art, and crafts gives children a safe way to explore feelings, relationships, choices, and difficult transitions. Your Growth Garden™ is a welcoming space where children and grown-ups can play, experiment, and learn together without the pressure of a real-time problem.
With The Parallel Journey™ as the guiding principle and The Satori Shift™ as the five-step process for exploring feelings, play can help children and grown-ups Notice, Connect, Listen, Validate, and Choose together.
The goal is not to direct the play toward a correct answer or turn every activity into a lesson. It is to follow the child’s curiosity, practice new skills, and create opportunities for feelings and experiences to emerge naturally. When grown-ups join with openness and care, play can offer a gentle window into what a child may not yet know how to express with words.
Explore the articles below for playful ways to rehearse difficult moments, build emotional language, practice supportive choices, and process feelings together.
